Description - Hostel

Located in a beautiful heritage building, right in the heart of Barcelona, The Alternative Creative Youth Hostel is the perfect base from which to enjoy the city and make the most of its incredible opportunities. With it’s perfect location in close distance to ‘Plaça de Catalunya’, the hostel offers safe accommodation to open-minded, adventurous and young travellers. The Alternative Creative Youth Hostel is a friendly and cozy place for travellers who come to Barcelona to experience the city’s historic and artistic attractions. Here you can easily make friends with people from all over the world.

Our helpful and knowledgeable staff provide lots of information and recommendations. We will let you know where to find great places for live music, where to eat real Spanish food and much much more. Join our organised trips to visit the nicest places of Barcelona!

Please also note that we are a fun, but not a party hostel. It is our pleasure to provide accommodation to people who come for a culture and leisure visit; party animals might not feel comfortable here though. We respect you and we expect you to respect your roommates, the staff and yourself! Let’s keep the atmosphere vibrant together!

Fantastic location, right in the heart of the city, 100 meters from ‘Plaça de Catalunya’, 300 meters from ‘La Rambla’ and within walking distance to many important locations. 7 minutes to ‘Casa Batlló’, 15 minutes to ‘Casa Mila’, 30 minutes to ‘Sagrada Familia’, 10 minutes to ‘Barri Gotic’. 17 minutes to the port and 35 minutes to the beach.
You can find supermarkets, bars, restaurants, clubs, a post office, public transportation, pharmacies, all you need, in less than 5 minutes walking from the hostel.

Booking and cancellation policy

Unless otherwise specified, booking payments are non-refundable.

City Tax: There is a €0.75 city tax per person per night, which is not included in the price.

Important note for minors: We only accept guests under the age of 18 if accompanied by an adult or in possession of a permission note by one of the parents/carers.

Cancellation policy:
Free cancellation is possible at least 48 hours before the date of arrival.
If you do not show up for your reservation and do not contact us or cancel within 48 hours prior to the date of arrival, the first two nights of the accommodation cost will be charged.

For the safety of other travellers we can not accept any traveler with bed bugs bites. Please consider this before proceeding with your booking. We reserve the right to refuse admission.

Walk-ins are possible, but we cannot ensure available beds.

How to get there

Easy to get to by metro. Travel to stations: Universitat, Plaça de Catalunya and Passeig de Gracia. They are within 5 minutes walking distance of the hostel.
From the airport take the Aerobus (shuttle bus) and get out at the final stop (Plaça de Catalunya). From here one can walk to the hostel (5 minutes walking). The shuttle bus takes up to 35 minutes and drives regularly.
When on the Plaça de Catalunya, walk towards the Apple store and continue into the street called Ronda de la Universitat. After 3 minutes walking, you will find the hostel on your righthand side in between Venda & Banco Sabadell.
It is also possible to come by car, but we have no private parking. However, there is a parking garage: Saba parkings, 2 minutes walking from the hostel. We have an agreement with them so you will get a discount and receive the best price for a parking garage this central and close to the hostel. Please contact us beforehand for extra information about this deal.
