Unlike other small Italian hotels, this one is unique in every way. It's extremely clean, colorful and friendly atmosphere puts us in a class by itself. The primary language in the hotel is English, although Italian is spoken as well. The albergo is designed to make you feel as if you are staying in the apartment of a relative. We aren't a hostel but we do have rooms requiring a shared bathroom which is kept clean.
We are an anti-racist environment where everyone is welcomed and treated with respect. We expect the same in return. All of our rooms are nonsmoking and no alcohol is permitted in the rooms.
We keep adventurous backpackers in mind by assuring that brochures for sites are available. We can provide information on things to do and see and we are happy to assist you. We know how difficult it is to travel through Italy, and we try to help you feel comfortable.
We are a 15 minute walk away from Livorno Centrale station. The location of the albergo is on a major through way near grocery stores, cafe's, and restaurants. From this location, you can hop on a train and be in Pisa within 30 minutes, Florence within 1 hour 15 minutes, Luca, Siena, Vada and many more places. We are the least expensive of all of the albergo's in the Livorno area because we are a relatively new establishment. We took over ownership in 2010. Prior to that, the place didn't have a great reputation, which is why we put in a ban on locals and have certain regulations.
It's a diverse community of people but safe. There are elementary schools within walking distance so we uphold our responsibility of maintaining a respectable environment by hosting friendly respectable people. The place is often referred to as, "little America" which is a good thing.
The building is rumored to have been a place where people hid during the holocaust. We are respectful of this history.
Please have passport available for identification. We do not hold passports but all information is faxed daily to the police. There is one small registration form to fill out and sign upon arrival.
This is not a shmaltzy place. It's a one star hotel owned by a Native New Yorker. Please don't come expecting to find the Trump towers or Wilford Plaza, it's not here. We're artists living in the birthplace of Modigliano! Also, check any racism, sexism, antisemitism, or homophobia or privilege at the door.
