My Name is Gus, and I believe I can give faith of a pretty accurate description of this place, which goes as recently as the middle of February of 2014.

This small place, which is being advertised as “hostel”, is not more that a big old house with multiple divided and piled-up rooms, most of which do not have their own bathroom, which requires the use of a common one. But this should not be a problem at all since hostels are usually like that, so , if you’ e planning to a HOTEL this is probably NOT the place for you. The same goes for the lack of towels in these common bathrooms and so on. I have to acknowledge however, that its LOCATION is pretty good, since Aguacatala is a nice, safe and quiet neighborhood, so that you will be close to where the action is for a far cheaper rate than in Poblado.

However, this is not my MAIN complain, which can be summarized in one single word: INCONSISTENCY. This applies for the availability of Wi-Fi and hot water, so if you are (like me) an internet-dependent individual, be ready to get frustrated at any time, including (and particularly) at night. The second one, which has been also addressed before by other customers, is ANNOYMENT, which may range from mosquitoes that can suck you up more than your bedroom mate, and NOISE, which for sure will wake you up from very early in the morning, as the clerks are a couple of guys who seem to be pretty fond of salsa and reggaeton at the loudest possible volume –it wouldn’t matter if is 7 AM on a Saturday…it will be there.

So, for 25 bucks a night I think you can be in a nicer and cozier place than this one. Of course, if you’re looking only for a place to sleep (not minding the mosquitoes or the loud music) and you don’t care about that plague called what’s up, then this is definitely a place for you.

Medellin is such a nice place!!. Don’t waste your energy at this place...

PD: the pic with the pool is for fools: NOONE will EVER get into it…
