Dear Volunteers & Travellers,
We are a family of 5 (3 children) living in Adjohoun, Benin (West Africa) on a huge farm. We started several projects which include : Ecofarming, Permanculture, Various breading (Chicken, sheep etc). We are looking volunteers helps in those areas.
As ACCOMODATION, Volunteers will work 06 hours per day (3 in the morning) and 3 in the Afternoon, with period of break if possible, From Monday to Friday. They will be offered free hosting on the farm (camping or rooms) with free Internet, utilities (Water, Electricity etc)
We grow our own daily meal and sell them to markets etc... therefore, food will not be a problem.
PS: No illegal activities (prostitution, drugs, guns, narcotics etc) are welcomed on the site as we are very spiritual and very honest.

However, you must be in good health and be ready to adapt to the weather conditions. (Mosquitos nets are available on site).
To come to Adjohoun, From the Airport, take a taxi to Porto Novo ( The Capital). Once there, you must take another Taxi (vehicle or motorcycle) to OUANDO Market (Next to Songhai) Once there, you will take the last Taxi from Ouando Market to Adjohoun (45 minutes). Then, at your last Taxi/Bus terminal, call the Farm/ Host at the above number. They will come to pick you up ASAP. Thank you. We are looking forward to welcoming you and having you experience a great family environment and breath natural air in a quiet village called Adjohoun.
Our farm is large and we also have several different pieces of lands in other part at Adjohoun. We do the following activities: Gardening ( Carrots, lettuce, tomatoes etc..) , EcoFarming, Breeding ( chickens, goats etc...), Construction ( Painting, Carpentry, Masonnery, etc...) Harvesting crops, planting, weeding etc... In addition, we have cooking, housekeeping, foreign language teaching, restauration, sales positions that might interest you. You just have to tell us in which area you will feel comfortable to help us and we will provide everything necessary for your safety and well being.
We have boarding room and host family. You are welcome to camp if you love the outdoor. We suggest that you come with your rain gear , long sleeves shirts, pants and boots to avoid insects bites. We have mosquitoes nets.
We anticipate our volunteer to work 06 hours per day, Monday through Friday. We provide daily meals and you are welcomed to cook for yourself is you want. During the week end, we let our volunteers enjoy themselves by discovering the culture and the country.
Benin is a French country. However, you will meet a lot of tourists and English is taugh at school.
Adjohoun is a town, in Ouémé Department, Benin. The commune is divided into 8 arrondisements and 57 villages. The commune of Adjohoun is located approximately 32km from Porto-Novo and 62km from Cotonou. The commune covers an area of 308km² and as of 2002 had a population of commune covers an area of 112 square kilometres and as of 2002 had a population of 60, 112 people.
You will be picked up at the Airport and dropped at the farm. Be advise that you are FREE to use your travel time as you want. You can travel and come back at anytime.
We currently don't have contact we former Americans Volunteers as we are new to the country. However, as a US citizen also, we expect that everybody have different cultures and we are open for culture exchange. Once you are with us, we will let you know the DOs and DON'TS of community.
PS: We just don't accept Fire Arms/ Weapons, Drugs, Alcohol, Illegal Activities, Prostitution etc... on the farm. Smoking is allow at a long distance from the farm.
During this rainy season, I would suggest that you come prepared. We have few protectives gears that might now fit or be available to everyone.
We would love to learn new things from our Volunteers and always expect to live in a friendly family atmosphere.

Yes, they are orphanages in the Community and you will be free to work there.
We offer accomodations to our volunteers in addition to daily meals. If you would like to contribute somehow or help, your donations will be welcomed.
Please, let us know if you have any food allergies. You will be free to cook your own food if you want.
Upon arrival, we will have to make copies of your ID, Passport etc and guide you through an Orientation.
